Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 2, 2026.
The short version. We collect only what we need to do the work you ask us to do. We never sell or trade your information. We never show your name publicly unless you separately and explicitly tell us it is okay. Signing a pledge, giving a donation, or reading our site does not sign you up for anything else.
Who we are
The Jan Broberg Foundation is a survivor-led nonprofit organization supporting survivors of child sexual abuse through community, education, and justice work. You can reach us at info@janbrobergfoundation.org or by mail at PO Box 2408, St. George, UT 84771.
What we collect, and why
What you give us. When you sign the Ending the Statute pledge, we ask for your first name, an email, your state, and your ZIP code, and optionally your last name. We ask for your state and ZIP because statutes of limitation are state law, and your name only carries weight where you vote. When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email. When you donate, we collect the information needed to process and receipt your gift. When you email us, we receive what you choose to send.
What we do not require. You never have to share your own story, or say anything about your own life, to sign the pledge, join our community, or use this site. Anything you share with us is read by a person and treated with care.
What happens automatically. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (things like IP addresses and pages visited) for security and troubleshooting.
Consent, one choice at a time
We store your permissions separately, and each one starts switched off until you turn it on. Signing the pledge is not consent to receive our newsletter. Joining the newsletter is not consent to be contacted about advocacy. Nothing you do on this site is ever treated as permission to display your name publicly; that would always be its own separate, explicit question, asked plainly.
Donations
Donations are processed by Stripe, a payment processor. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Stripe’s handling of your payment information is covered by Stripe’s privacy policy.
Services from other companies
Some parts of our site are provided by other companies, and when you use those parts, those companies may receive standard technical information from your browser: Stripe for donations, Buzzsprout for podcast episodes, Circle for the Survivor Circle community, and Google Fonts for typefaces. Each has its own privacy policy. The Survivor Circle lives at circle.janbrobergfoundation.org and has its own community guidelines and privacy practices.
What we never do
We never sell or trade your information. We never hand your contact information to reporters, researchers, or partner organizations without asking you first. We never require you to disclose an abuse history to participate in anything we offer.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time, by writing to info@janbrobergfoundation.org. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing always works without argument.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. We will not quietly weaken a promise this page makes.
